Welcome to My Studio
I've spent over a decade teaching violin, viola, and cello, both in groups and one-on-one. As a musician, teacher, and lifelong student myself, I believe every person's musical journey is unique.
My teaching philosophy is simple: meet each student where they are. I create a supportive space where learning happens through mutual respect, patience, and shared joy in discovery.
My Musical Journey
Music has always been central to my life. Growing up in Southern New Jersey in a family where music filled our home, I was fortunate to study viola with the wonderful Byrnina Socolofsky. My path led me to the Luzerne Music Festival and to Skidmore College as a Filene Music Scholar. I continued my education under mentors like Nicholas Cords and Lenuta Ciulei, eventually earning my Master's in Music Performance from Temple University.
Performance & Teaching Experience
I currently perform with the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey and have previously played with the Pennsylvania Philharmonic. My teaching experience includes working with Play on Philly, a transformative music education program. These experiences enrich what I bring to each lesson, connecting classroom techniques with real-world performance practices.
Beyond the Notes
What makes my teaching approach different is my decade of experience as a life coach and clinician. Working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and traumatic brain injuries has deeply informed how I teach music. This background helps me connect with students of all learning styles and needs.
I see music education as more than learning notes on a page—it's about growth, healing, and discovering your unique voice. Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or refining advanced techniques, I'm here to guide you on that journey.
